In my last post, I mentioned that I had attended a Foundation for Shamanic Studies basic workshop over the weekend of March 9-10. Which, by the way, I really enjoyed and appreciated.
Now the first stop in this version of Deb's walkabout was to drive over to visit with friends in this same part of Pennsylvania. I don't see them often, usually at most once a year, and they had moved (somewhat recently) into a new house I had never seen. They had invited me to stay for a couple of nights, which I was very happy to do! They each work during the day, one at home and one not, but I also had some work to do (yes, I still work occasionally!) so it all worked out. I don't really have pictures to show from this visit; we mostly just kind of hung out.
From there, I headed to Arlington, VA to visit some second cousins for a few days. During that time, the weather was still pretty changeable, but I did get the chance to make my first visit to the National Arboretum ...
I have so, so, so many pictures. It was still kind of early in the season, but there were still some lovely things at which to look! Here are just a few of them.
I also managed to make it Rock Creek Park. Less was in blook here, and it was a grey day. But still ...
... and check out the black squirrel! "Black squirrels in Washington, D.C. originated from eighteen black morphs captured at Rondeau Provincial Park in Ontario and released into the parks around the National Mall in 1902 and in 1906 by Teddy Roosevelt." --Wikipedia
I knew this but had to look it up to confirm it!
