I'm sorry it's been over a week since I posted, but I haven't had much to post!
I continued to feel better every day as I made my way east, but of course isolated for five days (it's amazing how little has to be done while standing in the same physical space as others nowadays). At that point, though, while I felt much better I still tested positive for Covid, so I continued to stay in my car or hotel room until I had two negative tests. Which has now happened.
Here are a couple of the views I saw on the drive east:
I am currently back in Branson, MO - I was here for a couple of days back in the January-February roadtrip, and did some walking around Table Rock Lake. There was pretty much nothing in the way of entertainment going on here at that time though, and so I added a few days here on to this part of the trip.
The catch this time? Temperatures over 100F/38C. Yesterday was 106F. Which makes me very unhappy. Heat is not my friend, and once it gets this hot (and very sunny!) I just can't spend a lot of time outside. Or practically any time outside.
The place in which I'm staying is called Branson's Nantucket. It has a vaguely Cape Cod/Nantucket theme and the units overlook the lake. I am posting a few pictures of the view from my balcony.
Starting later today, I have a couple of Zoom meetings and then am taking part in a conference that will tie me up for the next few days. Real life does intervene sometimes! If weather permits, I may have some opportunities to get out into nature (I hope - keep your fingers crossed for me) during breaks. Before I start that though, I am heading out before it get too hot to visit The Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure. Stay tuned for some good pictures - if I'm lucky - in my next post!
106F?!?! No thank you, although it is beautiful.
