Friends in Warmond - Day 2

Today is Tuesday, 22 August. I have now been traveling for close to four weeks, and have been to eight countries (currently in the Netherlands for the second time). I'm still not exactly sure when I'm coming home, but I do know where I'm going tomorrow when I leave here - Wales.

Anyway, today was my second full day with Jos & Christa. Christa actually left earlier today for a couple of days, and I had to do some client work this morning. We all had breakfast together, and then went our separate ways for a few hours. When I finished my work, Jos was just getting back from some errands, and we hit the road for The Hague. I had been there once for a short time (Lisa, do you remember?) but hadn't had a lot of time to explore, so was definitely looking forward to the afternoon.

On the way to the city we stopped at Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar. It is a private art museum, founded and owned by Joop van Caldenborgh. There is a house, the museum, and also a cafe where we got some lunch. We didn't actually go into the museum (although we walked around it and peered in to the windows where we could). Just a few pictures of the grounds:

Once in The Hague, we followed our protocol, walking around the streets while Jos told me lots of things about the history, the various building, and the areas of the city.

Back to Warmond again. Jos cooked an amazing dinner, and then we went out for a stroll around the island that is just a few hundred feet from their front door, in a big lake. As we headed back to the house, the sun was just starting to set.

Tomorrow morning, he is dropping me at Schipol again for my flight to London and train to Cardiff.

Stay tuned!
