I mentioned in earlier post that I had been doing some business in Cincinnati; it was actually a residential house flip. Until this week, I had not actually met the realtor who has been and will continue to be involved nor my construction manager on the project.
That changed here. I arrived in Cincinnati in the early evening of Wednesday, and texted the realtor letting him know I was in town. We met yesterday (that's Thursday) mid-morning for a cup of coffee ... or tea on my part since I don't drink coffee. I had chatted some with him over these last few months, but we really had time to talk yesterday. It turns out that he has been a professional musician for many years, and that his wife is also a professional musician. Both are currently playing in the Cincinnati Symphony performances happening this weekend. When I arrived in town, I originally thought about leaving today (it's Friday) but when Ben said that he could arrange a ticket for the program this weekend, I jumped at it! Those of you who know me well know that classical music concerts are one of my joys. I have belonged to and supported orchestras most places I have lived over the years, but I have never been to the CSO - so I am really looking forward to Saturday!
Today I had the opportunity to head over to the property we are flipping and to do a walk-through. It was great to meet Jim in person (construction manager) and to see the progress. We are way behind schedule on this project - Covid issues, supply chain issues, other illnesses, and some unreliable sub-contractors have all contributed. But the house itself looks pretty great, and now we are (I think and hope) only about 2-3 weeks from completion. It's about time to wrap this up and get the home sold.
I'm anticipating finding some walking trails for tomorrow during the day. It's supposed to be pretty cold, but I definitely feel the need for some nature and some exercise. And I hope some creative inspiration. That has been almost impossible for me for about 2 1/2 months, and is actually part of the impetus for this trip. So wish me luck!
I do have tentative plans for where I will head next, but I'm not going to share them today. I have changed plans just about every day since I left, so I will see how the next couple of days go before going public.
In the meantime, I have this to share today:
